I was putting my turbo blanket on tonight and noticed how close my turbo pedestal is to the intake, I would think this would superheat the air to #7 cylinder and make #8 very warm too. Just doesn't look good to me, what do y'all think?

Charge air is going through there so fast the temp wont change anyway.

I can see that, you would think that the pedestal builder would leave more than an 1/8th inch between them though! The main reason I posted this is one of my friends cracked #7 piston and that was a theory he had as to why it cracked, it made sense to me.

Take some exhaust header wrap and a large enough hose clamp and wrap it around the pedistal. Will reduce some of the heat the runner sees.

I don't believe the air there will be super heated, but I believe it will pick up heat somewhat-it has too.

I plan to wrap my pedestal when I put my truck back together to keep the heat contained. Ceramic coating is another option to help heat transfer out but coating the inside kinda scares me if it gets too hot and starts to flake off!! I may just do a coating on the outside.
