I have tried to "search" for this, but the vBulletin search feature sucks IMO.

I want to relocate the turbo oil feed tap from the the valley (#4 cam journal) to a tap that is closer to the oil filter for cleaner, cooler oil. On my pic I have identified three locations at the oil filter, A, B, and C. Of the three, what is the best spot to tap into, A, B, or C? Or is there a better place to tap into? Is any of the three a coolant tap?

Also, what size are the threads for the alt tap location?

Note: this is a 05 LLY with stock turbo in stock location.

Thanks for the help,
jc

If I get picture correct, I have taken feed line from location "A".
From oil line in block. Thread is 14x1.5

x2..."A" is the port that I use as well...I will warn you to make sure you get that feed line tight because it's a tricky bugger to get to

IICR, no it will not leak oil. Put something down just in case (been a while). Most all the oil is in the oil pan.

I did not prime the line, but I did prime the turbo!

I also used the A position. It did leak oil (you are draining the oil galley).

My HTT kit came with a long and a short hose a check valve to keep the oil from draining back from the turbo (the short hose was closest to the block). I primed both the turbo and the oil line. I also pulled the TBC BAT fuse and ran the starter until I had oil pressure, then put the fuse back in and started the truck.

im just gonna get it from "A" so i dont need to prime the line??

ok follow my instructions lol... preoil the turbo until oil starts coming out, don't worry about prelubing the line oil will shoot up it so fast it will be fine. OR! you don't need to prelube the turbo, get all the lines tight, under the hood fuse box pull the TCBAIT or whatever fuse it is and crank the engine until it makes oil psi on the gauge, then replace the fuse and start the truck as usual :thumb:
