turbo oil drain hole (I dropped a nut in it)

Does anyone know if the turbo drain hole in the rear of the block is a straight shot to the oil pan? I was pulling the turbo that I just blew up and dropped one of the nuts down in the hole, it went bye, bye .

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Have you tried fishing it out with a magnet, I dropped a nut down the intake "Y bridge" when I deleted the EGR cooler, I know how you feel.

i dont have one here. i am waiting for a buddy to bring me one, and you know how that goes....

i looked down in there (wouldnt suggest that again....) and i cant see it. i'm pulling the oil pan right now, fingers crossed.....

I have the bottom part of the pan off and no joy. I am walking away for a few minutes, hopefully I'll be able to see sucess after a little food and cooling off.

Did you check the top of the aluminum mesh?

It should have dropped to the top off the upper pan

I ran my fingers around the webbing of the upper pan, but no joy. i'm on my way out to drop the top section of the pan, hopefully it's as easy as Bullfrog says....

What went wrong with the BD? I thought they were past the days of blowing up all the time?

i did that with the crank/balancer key on my car... droppers throught timing cover into the pan. that magnet made life a whole lot easier. they're worth the money....

bullfrog, i dont know, i'm not even a self proclaimed 'turbo-ologist', but it's going to my 'turbo guy', the fella i bought it from and he's going to look at for me.
