I have a 2005 Topkick C5500 LLY 6.6L and it only has about 140 000kms on it. its been making a squealing noise that starts around 1200rpm from the turbo or somewhere close to it, but its not consistant and its still making good boost. i wonder if there is a common problem with them? i have sprayed soapy water around the clamps and i cant see it bubbling anywhere. i bought the truck used and it does have a positive air shut off, i dont know if its been activated while it was in high idle or not. does anyone have any suggestions

Remove the intake and turbo inlet... Check the wheel for excessive in n out and up and down play. My guess is your turbo is in need of a rebuild

Ok I will do that, I know there should be a little bit of thrust play but what is not longer acceptable play?

A leaking up-pipe gasket will also produce a high-pitched squeal...

This is definitely worth a shot but given you said boost numbers have not dropped I wouldn't suspect an exhaust leak. You have 4 potential areas that could leak the 2 where the up pipe connects to the turbo pedestal and where the up pipes connect to the exhaust manifolds

Ok since I have the dog house cover off I can see and feel for leaks, I can't see any soot leak marks and can't feel any leaking.
