hi everyone, sorry I feel like an ass double posting this from DP, but most of the time my questions get lost inbetween the "help my 2005 dmax sounds like a tractor and wont go over 2000 rpm" threads. :(

Does anyone know what size v-band the stock LLY turbo inducer is?? Im going to buy a metal v-band flange and weld a nice big 90* tube to it to make my own nice flowing intake and get rid of the dumb LLY y-pipe thing everyone is talking about.

Id like to make something like this, and mate it to the outlet pipe coming from the big turbo:

thanks
Ben

Why don't you get one of the aluminum ones from Opie? That's what comes with the twins kits now, and you can reuse the stock V-band clamp on it.

It would have been nice if Nathan at MPI built that top pipe all the way to the turbo instead of to the stock inlet pipe I had all kinds of problems keeping the plugs in the stocker until I got Opie's inlet

Ben, I have what you need in my garage. I went down this road already, and abandoned. The diameter that will work has a wide width, could not find the right combo on the shelf, and special request was not on my agenda.

I assume you no longer have an EGR?

The main problem I ran into, is the width of the flange on the clampco parts.

I don't have any pics, just purchased a few of these clampco's of the correct diameter. It was originally so that I could sandwich a custom nozzle holder for wet compression.

The stock clamp might be a better option. I have some of those also.

yeah I was mainly just looking for the flange itself, so I can weld a sharp 90* metal pipe bend onto it and make something a little better than the stock plastic (I know its not really plastic) piece. I figure I can reuse the stock "v-band" clamp.

I'll look into making a flange that will match the turbo inlet with a V-band! I might be able to get something together for you, by the time your new toy's ship;).

If you do that, you will be my hero sir! I CANNOT wait for my new toys!!!! :thumb::happy2:
