alright guys, I pulled my horn off and spent all day porting and polishing it and crap and I really dont notice much other than the pitch and volume of the turbo. I did notice that it almost seems to fall on its face a little bit when it shifts just cruising. Just curious about the physics part of why this mod helps and how. I figure the GM engineers got to be pretty smart so there has to be a reason why they put that lip on the horn. Anyone able to explain this to me?

My Super Diesel rips the tires off in second and pulls top end like never before. This is with a custom tune written by Tony ( Moonshine ) I also removed my IAH which helped a little as well. Guy at SoCalDiesel is impressed with my truck and he don't impress easy. Guy knows my truck very well since we've traded back and forth doing mods. Rick Lance has given me his turbo intake which is even bigger and Tony may have to retune it.

I didn't notice much difference in "power" either. I noticed the pitch change first. It does seem to spool faster and harder. I also noticed it falling on its face on shifts however after a week of driving it seems to be getting better.(maybe its just me) If I had to guess why gm did what they did I would say it was a noise dampener or to "smooth out" the turbo. I like the mod over all, I think its a step in the right direction. :thumb:

just my .02

I didnt really notice much difference, but then I changed the FPR at the same time. IMO, both mods help me gain .12 at the track.

I did this mod and was impressed with the results, for something that was easy to do. the trick to do it fast is to use a carbide cutter in stead of a grinding stone or a flap wheel.

I used a cutter also but probably just HSS and it was kinda dull! Took me a couple hours but I smoothed the whole inside, not just cut the lip off.
