I recently purchased my truck and it had a steel braided line that ran from the turbo down to the oil spin on filter. The hose had a leak in it.
The hose was also split by a flow restriction coupling.
I went to a local hose supply who made me a new line out of power steering hose (I had it split to keep the coupling, not being near knowledgeable enough to change things up). Problem is that the crimp fitting is too wide to fit (on the end down near the oil filter), it won't go on straight.
Looks like I'm going to need to do a new hose and this time be smart enough to ask for advice.
So my questions:
1. Is that coupling necessary?
2. Can I go down to a 1/4" pipe or will that be too restrictive?
Any advice is appreciated!
