Turbo Feed Line

I recently purchased my truck and it had a steel braided line that ran from the turbo down to the oil spin on filter. The hose had a leak in it.

The hose was also split by a flow restriction coupling.

I went to a local hose supply who made me a new line out of power steering hose (I had it split to keep the coupling, not being near knowledgeable enough to change things up). Problem is that the crimp fitting is too wide to fit (on the end down near the oil filter), it won't go on straight.

Looks like I'm going to need to do a new hose and this time be smart enough to ask for advice.

So my questions:

1. Is that coupling necessary?
2. Can I go down to a 1/4" pipe or will that be too restrictive?

Any advice is appreciated!

First of all, Welcome to the forum. I'm assuming this is a feed line. I would completely get a new -4an feed line and run it from the block to the turbo. The -4an will not need a restriction yet will feed plenty oil to the turbo. Do you know what turbo your truck has?

I appreciate the welcome and the advice. Correct, this is a feed line. I'm not sure what the turbo is. I attached a pic if that helps. Still learning a lot.

For the line, do you know of any place that stocks them or do I need to find a place that will make it?

(yes, working on getting a replacement signal line too :thumb:)

By signal line are you talking about the wastegate hose? Some cheap vacuum line from local auto store will do.

But order some from SS line and fittings from Summitracing for the feed line.

But yes my guess is turbos an s364.
