Hey guys Dino here, I'm wanting to do some tuning on Momma's truck which is a 03 Tahoe with the 5.3L. I was wondering if anyone has done any other tuning than Dmaxs and if so would u give me some pointers. I know how easy it is to screw up your engine so I don't want to jump in with my pants down an mess up my Wife's ride:D,, Thanks

I ordered a tune from Justin @ Blackbear Performance for my buddies 04 2500HD with a 6.0, I am very impressed, he woke it up alot. I reccomend talking to him. Cost you a little but well worth it IMO.

thatll help you dial in the tranny

in PE you can see where it starts limiting fuel, i take the highest point and copy it the whole way down, say like 12.75 or 12.99...i increase spark (high) up until i get a little knock then come down some or the point that feels the best SOTP, then go up say 2* on the low unless there is knock prevalent. If the motor sees knock it pulls timing like crazy and on a gasser you feel that a ton. Make sure you have your units set up in Imperial, and AFR and Grams/Cyl..Sometimes you have to go down the units box and unceck oz/cyl and change it to grams/cyl. The link i posted talks about torque management a how to compensate by pressure ect. Kill the abuse modes, BTM ect. Im by far no smart gasser tuner but just doing these few things not having a wideband will make it open up some :spit:
