tuning twins

Its official, I ordered my MPI twins today. Now if any of you have advise on tuning in particular vaine position, it would greatly be appreciated.

I am looking for advice into tuning twins, especially vaine positioning. Any advice is appreciated. I know Rob is the man when it comes to tuning twins, but I wont have the money for up to a few months so I am going to play with my tunes for awhile to make them work.

Sorry for the double post. No I dont have them yet, I just ordered them today. I should have them within 1-2 weeks. They will be getting installed ASAP though, and I would like to start to work on some of my tunes.

Twin LB7's, no tuning changes needed.

Twin LLY's, some vain position table changes needed.

Twin LBZ's need more than the LLY

Twin LMM's whole new ball game. The chargers on the LMM twins are different than the past twins.

You should be able to get it fine tuned with testing of logs, both boost gauges, back pressure gauges, and waste gate adjustments. Also need to think about how boost affects timing among other things.

Is it the new charger that is different on the LMM's or is it the stock charger that makes it different from the others?

Yes on both. I didn't think that the LMM charger would be any different than the LBZ charger, but ended up being very different with the twin turbo tuning.

Not rocket science though, just testing. The biggest thing is looking at overall tuning and the HP level twins put on a stock engine. Most high HP stock turbo tunes I've seen, I never ran with my twins.

Shes going to get sick of the corner.

ROb does it seem tht our turbos are more rstrictive and harder to tune becuase of the taller vane ? would it benefit any buy puting a lbz turbo on ?

Tommy, I don't believe the LBZ turbo has an advantage over the LMM. Now the LBZ on a LLY is a good choice.
