The 25 psi does help a lot but you still need a better clutch setup in C1 and C2 because these clutches are only capable of biting 50% because of bowing. The C1 piston contacts the clutch pack on the inner diameter and the C2 piston contacts the clutch pack at the outer diameter, so the clutches tend to bow in and out respectively and only allow 50% bite. So theoreticaly the added 25 psi will give better holding power for the 50% hold you are working with; not enough. Alto uses a thick bottom plate in C1/C2 to help keep the bowing effect to a minimum.

Is it apart yet? Did you fry the c3's or was it something more major? When mine went on the 3-4 shift and hit 4900RMP I had broke the clutch hub/planetary.....

Ok, so heres the latest. First off my installer is swamped right now and because of that I decided to Remove the tranny and T.C. today myself and bring it to him for disassembly, inspection, and re-assembly. He is going to try and get it apart tommorow so hopefully tommorow afternoon he and Mike can finalize the parts list and get this thing back up and running ASAP. On the bright side of this I am getting much quicker at removing my allison:D Only took me 1 1/2hrs today V.S 3 1/2hrs the first time. Hopefully this will be the last time for a bit, while it wen't well I do not wish to do this every 2 months.;) Thanks for the comments and a extra thanks to mike L for taking the time out of his already hectic schedule to help me out of a jam.

Surely ATS and TTS don't share info?????? Heck, only a few letters differentiate the two companies....

Oh, I'm not bashing. But, well, maybe I should.

I have seen first hand the components required to hold my setups torque. Only Suncoast products have supported these levels. Using Suncoasts products have allowed us ( no there is not a mouse in my pocket ) to damage differentials and driveshafts and support power levels I had never dreamed possible. Yes, power levels higher than mine are proven, mine have finally been reliable.

I'm sure TTS is selling a product packaged from other manufactures, just like ATS ( to a point ) and well they both have the same customer service. Once they are embarrassed, that's it.

While TTS does make some good products, there is a reason I don't run their trans stuff any longer. I used to run their converters.

This is a company that currently expouses the theory that no Allison can survive 10 second ET's, even for short durations. They lobbied to get the rulebook changed for trucks they sponsored so they could run non-Allisons in those trucks. The Spruill/TTS truck runs a Dodge transmission after TTS could not come up with a Allison solution.

Any claim by anyone that the Allison can live past 700HP is met with pointed insults and prompting of TTS "minion" to post silly insulting images and homosexual references in place of anything resembling technical information.

I personally witnessed a TTS Allison trans last only one or two passes at 650rwhp in a 4000lb racetruck. It was Las Vegas last year at the DHRA event.

I would be very wary of listening to sales pitches by a shop that claims just minor mods to an Allison can hold huge power for long periods, while in the same breath claim that no Allison can support huge power for even short periods regardless of what mods you perform. It sounds too much like an advance warranty disclaimer:

"Yes I told you this trans was the best, but even the best fails immediately."

Maybe I should clarify my dragging ATS in.

ATS sells products they can't support. Example: stage ? injectors. I have had the privilege to sharpen my tuning direction with stage 4 ATS injectors. The TeamSalad member that has given me this opportunity in tuning his truck was pretty much frustrated with his inability to drive his truck without fogging the state. When he called ATS for support, he was given the run around as to the specs. Sad thing is, they offer these injectors as power enhancers. The problem I have with this brings me to a point of using this company as an example. I hope this member comes forward one day and expresses his feelings towards this matter. I believe, with my past dealings with TTS, both companies are on borrowed time.

I agree. Just like the stock 6.6 sustaining x amount of torque. If, as ATS so proudly put it, " That converter will hold anything you can throw out it Mike." And boom, two later we are having to go with Suncoast for yet another solution. We are breaking every shaft breakable but yet, no longer pulling transmissions. I can tell you for sure, Suncoast will certainly be on top in the end, till the end.

Perhaps we should leave ATS to another thread.

No offense, just want threads to maintain clarity.

Right now, Suncoast is the brand I trust the most, but transmissions stuff is quirky in digital-age vehicles. Hard to tell how much blame to put on tuning, and how much on trans hard part technology.

What I can say, is so far no Suncoast trans part has failed on our three trucks due to defect in manufacture or design.

I cannot say that for "others".

But I'm always trying new stuff, and I'm a "consumer" of race parts. If there is a better solution, even by TTS, I'm there in a heartbeat. I'm a parts whore and will run what works regardless of the name on the box. This is why I piss off some performance shops I suppose. Some are afraid I might test their product and find it lacking, so I have less choices to test than a normal consumer in some cases. Can't get parts for love or money sometimes.

I toooooooooo Consume Race parts:cool2:. Problem is, maybe my problem, once I've been burnt and get my feel I'm moving on. I can say I have marked off a few companies no matter what they offer or give away. I personally would rather suffer or build an inferior product than deal with a company that has stabbed me in the back or accused me of breaking their " image " when I had merely shared my unbiased experience .

If I remember the start of this thread correctly, customer service is the main issue. Reliability may well be up there as well.
