I sent him an email. Seems the last event, we showed up with diesel pickups from as far away as Idaho? but were told we could not even have any pit area at first. While it's always great to hang out with other diesel hotrodders, the event itself kinda sucked from a racer's perspective.
I drove down for this event a couple of years ago. I didn't think they treated the diesel pickup guys very well, so many big rigs there you couldn't move. It was poorly organized and you couldn't get any runs in, I got one time trial. The track prep was non existent as the big trucks ran through the water box then dripped water halfway down the track. Zero traction. Oh yeah, I wiped out the side of my truck on a mud flap steel extender on one of the big rigs when they told us we couldn't do anymore time trials and to get out of the staging lane. It wasn't bad enough the side of my truck looked like it got caught by a can opener on steriods, the guy who owned the truck claimed $1000 damage to my insurance company. I won't be coming.
