Lly duramax if that matters anyhow occasionally if I don't drive my truck for a few days and then go out and start it she will run and then die . So I pop hood crack the bleeder and then pump once or twice close bleeder restart and no issues . Is this a normal thing to happen ?

Most likely a cracked or worn fuel filter head. Can be bought and replaced pretty cheap and easy. Less than $200 even from dealer and will come with new filter.

Okay . I'm new to the diesel world . But i had assumed it was a air leak somewhere . Thanks I'm going to look into this weekend . Is there any harm if I continue to drive it to and from work like this ?

Just the annoyance factor. Shouldn't hurt it. It will get worse though and you should fix it as soon as you can get to it
