Truck Sitting Unlevel In Front

So I noticed the other day my truck was sitting unlevel in the front. Measured from ground to inside wheel well, +1" difference (higher on the passenger side). I always count the turns on my torsion bars after racing, so it seemed strange. I also just recently did pitman/idler arm braces, but I would not think that would matter.

So just to be sure, I jacked the truck up today and took both torsion bar bolts all the way out. Set the truck down and measured, still at little more than a 1" difference.

Any idea what could be causing this? I suppose I can just crank one of the bolts way more to even it out, but it kind of has me curious as to what the deal is?

its probably one bar starting to sag more than the other. i have a bar on my truck that takes 3 more turns than the other to make it level and it seems to be gettin a bit worse as the miles go on it

Stripped adjustment bolt?

No, that's not it, because the adjustment still works, meaning the front end of the truck does go up and down. When I took the bolts all the way out, the front of the truck dropped about an inch, but there was still that 1" difference between the two sides. I noticed it after doing my pitman/idler arm braces, not sure if that was a coincidence, or if that could have caused this?

are you sure you were on flat ground? measure the backs at the same time you measure the fronts. If the back is leaning the same way id say you're on a slight slope. If not James is probably right

My driveway is at a slight slope and it tricked me. My passenger side sags about 1" lower then the driver side when my truck is in my driveway.

Kinda off topic question, do the torsion bars loose the strength over time? Like a actual spring does. Just a thought because my driver side sags and I have the keys all the way up on both sides.

mine is a little un even too.. pass side sits about 1/2-3/4 in higher with bolts all the way out... i heard having the paas side a liitle higher is good for launching though.

It is good for launching as the truck will want to roll right. Transfer case, fuel tank, front driveshaft are all on the left side. Mine sits real low on the left with a full tank and me in it.

Ok, thanks guys. I'm not really going to worry about it I guess. I'm just going to try to get the CV levels even, and get it aligned this week. Maybe I'll split the difference and have like a 1/2" difference

If the torsion bar bolts are even that doesn't really mean anything. Adjust them until you are level (left to right) and sitting at the correct ride height. The truck should really be full of fuel with driver when checking this. Also seeing how you're In New Hampshire I'd Check the rear shackles to make sure they are still solid. I've seen a bunch of them rust to dust.

A buddy of mine from GM said sometimes he has had 1 all the way in and 1 way out to get the truck level.Level the top of the wheel wells on flat pavement and go with it or replace your week t bar with a new 1.

That's pretty much about what I'm going to have to do to make mine level. I'd say theres about a 10-15 turn difference. But that makes me feel a little better that it's not just me. I will level it out for now and maybe replace the t-bars down the road.

Sledhead, I will also check the rear shackles. Although my baby does not see NE winters anymore, so she's pretty clean under there :D.
