Sorry, Please move me to the correct thread. Not sure where to post this but I need everyones help!

2002 Chevy Silverado 2500HD turbo desiel 6.6L

CEL's NO

Hesitation,missfire, no....

Started one day out of the blue, Drove the truck for a while, got a hair cut, came out and the truck would NOT start.....

HAd it towed.

I forgot what happened in beween, but basically the Truck starts, drive it for a little bit, shuit it down, then wont re-start..

A local Mechanic "thought" or suggested it was the Fuel injection Control Moduel. So I bought one and replaced it, Truck started JUST fine and drove good. Then my G/F drove the truck to her friends house, bs'ed for a while and tryed to start the truck and nothing..

The truck turned over but does not start. Im not getting any codes. I may have one now, ill have to check, im not near the truck.....

WTF!!!!

My g/f said the mechanic "said" the glow plugs were fine....

By "start the truck and nothing", do you mean it cranks but wont fire or it wont crank at all??

Where might this bleeder screw be located? And yes, the truck Cranks but won't start. It's obvious it's not getting fuel.

sounds like you have developed a slight crack in a line somewhere. it is sucking air and the truck wont start. it is common on the older ones lately. alot of rubber line getting old on those.

the bleeder screw is the black hex head on top of the filter assm. it is plastic so be careful.

You could be sucking air around the actual pump on the filter assembly, but obvioiusly you have a leak somewhere. My guess is the actual housing that holds the filter is sucking in air. Try and find a used one, GM has the replacements priced ski high. Just dealt with this same problem on an 05 that belonged to a ski club in Jackson WY who were here in Bend sking at Mt. Batchlor.

So the truck broke down, I think I said the other day a little while after I replaced the FICM. Pumped the crap out of the primer button and it startd and got it back home.............

is there a fuel pressure regulator? ? or you guys still think there is an air leak?

if pumping the primer results in a start/run condition every time it either stalls or just cranks after sitting for a while then its an air leak. the regulators do go bad, but that is not your issue.

subman made a good point about the primer assm i forgot about. they do go bad also. if you dont think your gunna find it, bring it to a dealer and let them give it a look.

ugh, what's so freakn weird, Ill go out and start the truck and let it idle for 20 minuts and itll be fine. Dorve the truck around the block and itll be fine. I don't want to risk driving it a long way away from home and it won't re-start....
Could it be o2 sensor(s) ?

really think it might be just the fuel filter? Drove the truck to work, when I tried to drive it back home I primed pumped it and got it back home.
