I had my second ever truckpull last night at the home town County fair. I did decent. That guy with the 06 CR Dodge that Eric got the pleasure of losing to won BOTH the street (2.5) and super street (2.8) classes last night.

Track was pretty lose so my nearly bald BFG AT tires were singing. I also think I "blew my tires" on the take off due to rookie moves of rolling out and just nailing it not rolling the throttle a little more controlled like. I also didn't have any front hangin weight so the nose was up at the big end. I still got 271.xx and the winner was at like 282/284 or somewhere there abouts. I was really hoping for 275 but oh well. It was a blast and I drove him the same as I drove in. :cool2:

On the way home however, I noticed that at red lights and just sitting and running it surges a little ever few seconds. The tach just flinches when it does it but when I was backing up in the drive and it would surge, it would accelerate and I had to apply the brakes more. That could be dangerous. Does this sound like the FPRV bowing out on me? It likely is the stocker with nearly 120K miles on it.

I was wondering the same thing! Which tune are you running Mitch? I only notice mine after I've ran it pretty hard and then let it sit to cool down before shutting it off. I just thought it was the cam, but its a pretty rough, lopey idle.....is that what you're having?

Its the fuel pressure regulator in the cp3. My 2001 does ths same thing. More fuel pressure at idle seemed to help mine out.

Well hmmm. Its a random surge, not a lope. This is with DPV6. It lopes when cold but not once warmed up. I guess I need to see if it does it with the stock or a lesser tune? Would that help single out that its in fact the FPR if it still does it regardless of tune?

I think this may be a good "reason" to get the SuperDiesel regulator I wanted anyways.

Im not sure, mine doesnt lope either but it will surge enough to push though the brakes at a stop light. In reverse it almost squeals the tires.

Mine would just idle rough and surge at WOT around 2200rpm. I turned down my lift pump pressure and it helped some but it did finally die. A modded one from Superdiesel sounds like a good fix to me.

Good hook by the way.

You seen my hook???

Thanks either way. And yes, I'm about certain that I will put an order in for a the SD FPRV. Through parts at it and hope it helps. :D
