For the past 2 days my truck just dies when I let off the throttle sometimes. Voltage looks okay, rail pressure goes to around 1000, sputters and slowly dies. Tonight I got the messege battery not charging on the DIC while it happened. Could my alternator just be dead? I'm not sure because it still says I have 14 volts when this happeneds..

Might be a cp3 regulator or the cp3 itself? I have 12 psi from my lift pump. I will check grounds tomorrow, and maybe test my alternator at autozone.

Mine kept dieing and the water seperator was full and not letting fuel flow.Just something easy to check i guess.Could your lift pump be stoping or locking and the motor dies? Good luck and keep us informed please!!!:thumb:

Tested the alternator it checked out fine. Only dies when I let of the throttle and about 50% of the time that I come to a stop. I'm putting the stock tune back in it now to see if that helps. DVT function the actuall follows commanded up to 160 but I relize idle isn't much of a load on the cp3.. Anyone ever have a cp3 fail like this? Its almost like the dead pedal you get on the VP44

My lift pump is working. I think it may be something I did in the tune, didn't happen on the stock tune, but only went for a quick drive. Put the older tune I was running on it just now and it worked fine until about 15 minutes of driving pulling up my street it wanted to die again.

What about a faulty tps?The foot pedal tps? The tps in the wifes car didnt set a code when it went bad and the car kept dieing on her on the way to work I changed it in the parking lot at her work and all is good.

I thought about that too, I've had some weird throttle issues in the past like a dead pedal for almost 10 seconds before it took off. But its commanding the rail pressure when it happens, just doesn't follow it... So IDK if its a cp3 problem or what. I did see that number 5 injector has a balance rate of 6 or 7 at idle, could just be the problem?

I noticed that my battery voltage was too high, I am having the same problem, stalling after engine is warmed up and a short drive. I think the ECM/ FICM is getting to much voltage.
