Truck go broke into last night. tried to bust in my passenger front door lock, that didnt work so they busted out my passenger window which set the alarm off. They attempted to try to pull my deck out but i have it bolted behind the dash and i have a feeling the alarm going off and the deck not coming out made them leave in a hurry.

Ill give the full run down later but my question is, does progressive glass coverage cover this? otherwise i have to start searching now for a window so i can seal the truck up for tonight again.:mad::mad:

I am not sure. I think it might, but insurance companies like to weasel out of things. Your best bet is to call your representative, and give them the details.

Sorry about the break-in, I hate thieves.

If you have glass coverage in addition to full coverage (theft ETC) it should be covered. Minus deductible of course. Thats where the stickler would be which deductible? Glass usually cheap to none ,theft $250 or a lot more?

Good luck

Ok, here is the run down now that im a bit calmer :(

So early last week i had forgot to lock my truck doors as ive been prepping for a trip to moab this week so my mind has been goin a mile a minute. Well i took the samurai to work that mornin and when i got home i noticed my passenger door was cracked open. I though that was weird. so i open it up and sure enough, some punk jumped in and took my broken Tom Tom (it fell off my windsheild many a time and finally quit workin), and i think some busted head phones for my back TV. figured it was some young dumb kid lookin for iPods cause they didnt take my nice pioneer deck or sub or any of that.

Well that leads to today. Walked outside to hop in the samurai and find my Passenger glass across my driveway. My dash was half popped off and you could see where they tried to yank my deck out but didnt get very far. Called the cops and an officer came out. Guy was super nice, dusted for prints on the broke door glass (my tint held it together) and off the deck screen, gave me all his info and said he would follow up with me tonight on what else he can find (any calls of alarm going off last night from neighbors, so on).

Whats interesting to see is how the f*** tried to get in. he tried to pop my door lock in to get the door unlocked but instead just cracked the handle bucket, so he used a bar of some sort to shatter the glass and yank it out. it dinged up the edge of the door a bit but nothing really noticable. By then, my alarm had to be going off from the vibration sensor (my alarmed beeped three times at me this morning meaning it went off) so i think the f*** knew he didnt have much time to try to yank my deck out. i can almost bet the alarm caught him off gaurd too cause it didnt go off last time he opened the truck up (i never set it).

So my glass coverage on the truck covers my passenger side window at no cost to me and covers my tint up to 35 bucks. Ill be getting rid of the door locks on the outside and just run the smooth type like on the back door handles. ive never used my key to open the door in the last 6 years so thats not that big a deal to me. Then cameras will be ordered next week when i get back to film these a**holes!!. Then once my pool is filled in, i can push my toy hauler back and put the truck behind the fence. Im also gunna figure out how to make my alarm louder (need to fix my train horn and hook that up), Mr 357 would like to have a word with these punks.

Good catch! Sorry to hear about your damage! Something to think bout in removing the key holes. If your battery goes dead there is no way to open your doors unless you break in.

You could create a hidden battery jump port. Just want to tell you in case you weren't thinking about a what if scenario.

the battery would have to be dead dead (like no charge at all lol). ive had the battery go dead quite a few times on the truck but it will still unlock with the remote. Absolute worst case, i cut the wire tie that holds the batt connections for the second battery i took out for the twins and hook a set of jumper wires to it. so i kinda have a hidden jump port lol

Damn, sorry to hear that man! Punk ass thieves! You should reply to that add and tell him you want to buy it, then show up with the cops. Or just meet them on your own and put your foot up their ass sideways and teach them a tough lesson. Last time someone tried to break into my old dmax they left speeding away with 3 9mm bullets in their trunk. Never had a prob again.

Been there done that. They punched in the drivers side door lock, took a laptop, pistol and tried to get the amp. Sucks they did your window, you're gonna be finding glass for months now.

If you find them and need a "hand", give me a holler.....i wouldnt mind having a talk with one.

Just making you aware in case you hadn't thunk of it! I got locked out of a vehicle once not because it was shaved but because the key lock was not reassembled correctly after installed by the dealer and the key no-workie plus you have no access to the hood latch if you cant open the door!

PITA
