So we pulled the motor and built it this winter in my 05 Dmax. The problem I have been having is the truck only runs when the alternator or battery charger is not hooked up. Truck needs to be drawing down the battery for it to run. Soon as you hook either one up it's like the fuel turns off or sometimes it spudders then dies. I have checked and cleaned all the grounds. Checked fuses. Replaced ECM and put GPCM back in. I'm running out of ideas unless it's the FICM. I deleted the EGR system, Variable vane turbo for fixed vane, glow plugs and HVAC system inside cab and A/C equipment under hood. Anyone got any ideas on what it could be? Thanks.
