Ok - so my check engine light came on on my 2012 GMC 2500 Duramax. I take it to the shop and they call me with the unpleasant news that i need the following :
1. DEF heater Reservoir
2. EGR Valve
3. EGR Cooler
4. $4 Glow plub

....for a whopping total $4400.

The truck has 137k miles on it and is my daily driver. I do occasionally pull a heavy 5th wheel, but certainly not the primary use.

So, what should i do? If i did a delete, i'd not need 1, 2, 3 anymore right?
any thoughts would be appreciated.....

The quick answer is yes. You'd be into a simple delete package for roughly $1200 from a reputable shop

OK - would/should that include a Delete Kit, pipe, and a single (TOW) tune?
all total and installed = sound like $1800?
curious what the single "tow" tune would do to HP and gas mileage.

Sounds a little high to me a def reservoir should only take roughly 1 1/2 hours max 2 unless it's speed limiter latched then approaite test have to be run. Which egr valve and cooler was quoted the front top or the lower right towards rh valve cover? Codes p21dd reductant heater 1 low current? Fix the codes first then tune remove stuff then sell known new good parts to return some of your investment in your off-road vehicle :thumb:

on edit see if 29400 special coverage applies to your vin that might save the def reservoir cost egr code can been cleared and unplugged when off road tuned later
