How much will the Transgo Jr help in my 5 speed. tranny has 69,000 miles on it and has not been limped from slipping. How much power can it hold before it goes south. Can it be installed with the tranny in the truck?

I did it a few years ago in another 02 I use to have. Dosen't hurt but don't exspect magic to happen.

None, the adaptive learning will override it in a 5 speed

No it won't. That's why Transgo installed the check balls which do not allow the TCM to learn it down.
Problem with the 5 speed is pistons in the C1/C2 not being centered on the clutch apply so you can only take advantage of 50% of the clutch pack holding power. The Transgo jr will help leak main line pressure ( 240 psi ) into control main pressure ( 125 psi ) which applies the C2/C3 clutches. The jr alone will not give you the holding power in 2nd, 3rd,4th, and 5th gear.

At least I knew it wouldn't produce the desired results. After I posted I realized he'd need the full transgo kit. What I posted was the BD kits problem I realize now.

What is wrong with BD's transmissions?? Whats the difference between there kit and say a suncoast or another brand name?

To clarify I meant the BullyDog shift improver kit. I'm sure BD Diesel makes quality parts at least for the DMax

I find it funny when someone spends a bunch of money on wheels and go fast goodies and stuff and wants a 120.00 fix on his trans.
