Bind up. Sounds like you have a set of clutches that went metal to metal and won't release. Just a thought.

ok thanks pulled the pan just small amount of band wear in pan didn't look bad for 188,000 but filter was in bottom of pan.

Any clue to how the shift solenoids should be? looked like 2 were closed and 1 open in park with switgh off or should they all be closed? and forgot to say it take's 1/2 sec for it to bind up after putting in to drive.

Fix the filter and it might work.

Allison does not use bands.

yea replaced filter didn't change. goes in gear smooth now !! but still have the binding. 1/2 second's after goes into 1st gear. and also comes out of reverse real slow
