I recently installed an OD lock. I found an 03 tcm tune from DP and used it. Everything worked fine for the OD lock out feature.
My issue is now that the trans shifts terrible when really getting on it. It feels like its bursting, throws huge amounts of smoke, and seems like its coming out of gear then going back in. If I drive it normal its fine. This only happens on my large tunes. Tow tunes and stock its fine.
I figured it was just the 03 tcm tune so I installed my stock tune...same problem. My original tcm tune ran perfect before this switch.
So, do I need to clear taps when changing trans tunes with efi live? Or is there something else that could cause this problem I'm not thinking of. This is the first time I've ever had issues with my trans.
One other item. I was going over this in my head last night, the only other thing I have changed, it it happened just before I put the 03 tcm tune in, I changed my fuel filters. One in stock position and one in SD Lift pump on the frame rail. I change them both every 10,000 miles and have never had issues. If these are bad, could it cause the problems I'm describing?
