Ok so here it goes im not sure if this is a limp mode issue or what.. as you see in my sig all the mods i have are complete with the exception of the race fprv and ported fuel rail and finger stick. they are sitting in the garage waiting for me to get back off deployment. so i run my truck mainly on 1 sometime 3. and everynow and then not often maybe 2-3 time max if hit the throttle or gone to pass a car and the trans will go to 4th gear or only 4th gear and stay there even if i slow down to a stop. so when that happens i just put the truck in park and turn it off for about 10 seconds and its fine.. never anymore issues...it has only happened a few times and i guess when my wife went to pass a car on the highway comming home from the river it did it to her and she did the same thing and no issues since.. so i guess what im asking is what is the issue why does it do this/and what do i need to do to fix it.. its never done it while towing either and i tow a 14k fifth wheel. it has only happened when getting on it really quick.

Limp mode. Turn the power down/off or quit mashing the throttle in overdrive to pass cars. You need a built trans. Juice with attitude is about as terrible as its gets for tuning. Your lift, wheels and tires aren't helping either.

ok cool. yeah ive been thinking of doing EFI live soon with stock safe trans tunes. so if i turn of the over drive and dont get on it to quick it shouldnt go into limp mode? really i dont beat on this truck. its really babied. it has 71k on it and i change the oil at every 3k with lucas oil since my brother is a rep i get a really good price. also in 71k i have changed all the other fluids radiator/trans/diffs/brakes 3 times already and use all dealer fluids for those. so that is limp mode thats happening? will the EFI live fix that or do i need to drop it off at Mike L's shop and get a mild trans build? really im not planning on doing much more as far as power goes on this truck because its our weekend family hauler and tow vehicle.... the one i will be building will be this special 06 lbz single cab short bed duallie with super singles and a manual my buddy has.. he said he ordered it ive never see a truck like it before. he put the super singles on it. any way off topic now. so my truck should be fine? as long as i dont slam on the gas and or take it out of overdrive?

Use the overdrive lockout button to manually shift it from 5th to 4th before applying throttle...That'll help it live awhile longer...
