So ive been noticing my transmission is getting to around 200 during normal driving. Unloaded normalish speeds. I checked fluid level and color everything seems good. I was reading something about the stock cooler getting plugged. I need to do a service (filters/fluid) and add a cooler. So my question is how do i go about clearing any debris if any? Or could it be air lock in the cooler? I sometimes have to wot to jump on the freeway when the trans isnt up to temp(cold). So not sure when the fluid is cold if bubbles get trapped in it and settle in the cooler? Dirty filter possibly? Im just not sure. This just started about a week ago trans is stock.

They will get debris coming from the converter. Does the converter shudder or has it limped? Have a tuner?

Best way to clean is use a hot flush machine, but least you can do is get the trans up to temp, shut everything down and unhook both cooler lines. Blow shop air in the return line and have the feed line in a bucket so you can see what came out. You'll be able to see a good amount of material if there's an issue.

No shutter and i never limped it while driving. I blew a fuse once and that put it in limp mode but never drove it. Cool when i do the service ill add that step to the list. Can i use trans cooler flush kit or brake clean?

Hot trans fluid works best. It will expand the tubes and simulate normal driving down the road. I don't believe you have a restricted cooler. Your temps are not out of line.

In Southern California so high 50's low 60's and its raining. The only reason i think something is up is because it never got this hot not even in Phoenix in july when i bought the truck. Just started to jump that high in the last week or so. Even in august towing our family's boat it never saw temps near or over 200. I just want to handle this before summer cause i dont want to get stranded.
