Had my tranny rebuilt approx 6 months ago, had transgo kit and he put all kevlar clutches with a triple disc converter. Trans works fine normal driving and towing moderate loads. When I hook up my 39 foot toy hauler I have to be easy on the pedal or it will shutter like the whole truck is coming apart. Could I have a bad convertor or what?

Need more info. Never heard of kevlar clutches that were any good. Who built the trans? Has a Tech 2 been hooked up to watch what's going on?

The guy who built it used to work on the military vehicles, said he had a lot of experience with allison. Beginning to wonder. Have not had it hooked up to tech II yet. The guy who rebuilt it moved. I think my only option is to take it to the dealer or purchase a scanner of my own, which I was thinking of doing. Feels like it has two engagements when put into drive and seems a littlle slow to engage. He said that was normal for triple disc tc's.

Finally located the guy who rebuilt the tranny. He hooked it up to a genesis scan tool and said it showed the pc solenoid #1 pressure to be at 232 psi and the line pc pressure to be at 101 psi at idle and came up to 232 psi only when engine was rev'd which he said indicated a possible plugged cooler. He also said that all of the adaptive shift status indicators showed invalid which he did not understand. He's supposed to get back with me tomorrow after he does some research. I get the feeling this guy is blowing smoke. Would EFI Live be able to help me diagnose the problem better? I really don't trust the stealership around here, and would really like to have the peace of mind that it is working properly. I have rebuilt a couple of 4l60E's but haven't really messed with allisons or using a scanner for diagnosis. I think it's time to learn. I have invested about 8k in this trans, so far, not happy.

How about you tell us what year your truck is. If it's an LLY pressure will be low at below 7% throttle and jump to full pressure at above 8% throttle. Scanner cannot tell what the pressure is but it goes by the G solenoid opening and closing and assuming pressure is up.
