Last two times that i've been to the track after making a few passes I've noticed that the transmission breather tube has tranny oil coming out of it, not a large amount because the oil level hasn't seemed to drop.
I'm wondering what may cause this?
I installed the PPE stage 5 kit myself over a year ago, once in a while it has little quirks but overall it has worked and shifted great. Ive made 30+ 1/4 mile passes with it, roughly a dozen truck pulls, and id say 50+ passes of 200' and 300' sand drags without any failure.
Also this isnt the first time I've noticed it. it did it last sumeer doing 1/4 mile passes and its done it both times I've been to the track this year.
Could it simply be that the vent/breather hose needs to be mounted higher up?

I'd suggest also to check fluid level when hot or up to temp. When it gets hot working if the fluid level goes up to or past the hot level on the stick it will come out the vent. Seen it happen numerous times.

I'll double check, I've changed the spin on once since I built it, might be due for the internal one. Also need to flush it and start running tran-synd or something good, not the dex-6 that is in it now. I know is horrible.....

What vent breather tube are you talking about? The transmission doesn't have a "breather tube" exactly. It has a vent, but it is a small silver button looking thing on the top of the transmission toward the left rear of the transmission. Are you talking about the transfer case breather maybe?

Fairly sure its the transmission, I'll crawl under it tmrw and double check. its a rubber hose with a little button hanging out the end, and the oil is down the side of the tranny and goes back from there.

Should read slower :D

Don't hear much about T-Case venting issues. Aren't many over filling or should I say the suggestion is fill the T-case thru the top getting more fluid in the normal? Thought that I read that some where along with using motor oil?

I got busy trying to get the turbo out last night and forgot to crawl under the check to take a look. The truck has 145xxx miles on it now and the built tranny has close to 25k now. The T-case is overfilled with amsoil motor oil. I'll check Thusday which is the next time I'll be at the garage working on finishing up getting the turbo out.

I was wrong

I was wrong, you guys were right, the line ran up over the tranny and came from the T-case, most likly just blowing out at high speeds while in 4wd because its overfilled. Once I get the new turbo and egr delete made/installed sometime next week, I'll look into it some more.
