You really dont know what you're doing, do you?

C$7500 = US$6100 That's pretty high for a built trans. That quote isnt from Ted @ MPL, is it? If not, call him instead.

I do not know much about transmissions. I know to much power makes it let go in fifth but I want to know the process of what happens. I am only 19 but really like to learn.

In a nutshell, there is a speed sensor on the input and output of the tranny. The TCM does a little math for the gear you are in, and if the input and output don't match, it limps. That is the "falling out of gear" you are seeing. What is happening is the clutches are slipping, and you are ripping them apart - a little at a time.
Either modify your tune (engine and tranny) to keep it out of 5th at WOT and full power, or lock out 5th before hammering it. Soon it won't hold 5th at stock power levels if you keep limping it.

Actually the shift strategies come from the turbine and output speed sensors. Input sensor ( '01-'07 only ) is an engine rpm sensor mainly used to count the dimples on the converter.
