Follow my instructions on the shift valve springs and follow Transgo instructions for the shift kit except substitute my inner springs instead of the Transgo springs for the trim valves.

No but Suncoast sent me the white springs with ratiotek instructions and it says to clean bore with 180 grit wet dry sad paper using a brake line and cutting a slot in to it and spin in bore by hand. Then to check by freezing the valve body for 30 min make sure vales move freely.
That's about it along with a picture of valve body and where the springs go.

That is only IF you have a stuck valve.

Ok got it I will pull valves clean every thing and reassemble with a little Vaseline and tranny fluid.

And I want to thank you MikeL for your help with obtaining your springs and the way you take time out of your day and help every one out including me.

Damn so irritating when the directions state this, how many transmissions/valve bodies have been screwed up doing this....

Is it not common sense that if the valve was originally free in the bore that there would be no need to perform the outlined cleaning procedure?

My thoughts were after reading the instructions was once I had it apart and cleaned I would bag it and put it in the freezer and see how the valves worked when I pulled it out. This is why I was asking on the forum .

That makes sense, although some might assume the valve will stick after the install of the other 2 valves and sand the bore even with no prior code for a "just-in-case" scenario...

Sanding valve body bores is a common practice in the trans business when confronted with stuck valves. You must be VERY carefull not to over do it. Valves should never be sanded as you will remove sharp edges on the spools which are there to push debris out of the way. It is preferable to use the valve itself to clean the bore by using cutting fluid in the bore and stroking the valve numerous times in its own bore.
It is also a common practice to put a problem valve body ( sticky valves ) in the freezer over night and see if the valves are still free after sitting. If they are stuck again; no use trying to install it it the trans. Clean it again.

I would never sand a bore unless I had to. If the valves are free, leave them alone.

Its still doing good for me. I did get one hard shift showing off with a friend, caught me off guard. I don't normally floor it off the line. I chocked it up to trans memory.
