Hey guys I live central Michigan and I think I am finally gonna be able to get my trans built which is past due and hope to have it done by christmas. I figured my business will go to DHD or Merchant. From where I live its about the same drive to either shop. So I guess I would like to know if any of you are running either of these guys trans? I don't know what Tony's is rated at where Eric has a 750 hp and 1000 hp rated option. I would also like to know what TC I should go with? Truck is a DD but want to do some pulls and take it to the strip. I may also upgrade my turbo to the Danville Stg2 GT3794.

I made the 500 mile trek down to see Tony when I had my trans built. Great guy to deal with. There was a defect with my torque converter and I had to go back down and see him, he ended up pulling the tc and replacing it. Didn't cost me a dime for labour or parts.

Hey Andy when Tony did your trans did he give you a HP# he figured it was good for? Another ? did you just set up an appointment with them then you drove there and they did the install? If you remember what it was could you PM total cost?

I can't remember if he gave a hp rating or not. Yep, just set up a date and they had a built trans at the shop waiting and they just pulled mine and threw theirs in. I think I paid $6000, but I also bought his 3" y-bridge and egr delete for LLY ($750) and his modified passenger side up pipe and had him install both. I think if you look at his site they start at $4500 and then you can add parts.

Pardon my lack of knowledge Mike. But, I run the ML-G currently and will be looking at going S366 or Danville 3794 and am curious how the ML-G will mate with either of the two chargers? Is tight better than loose?

A tight converter will give you almost instant tq off the line as it doesn't multiply much tq ( slip ). With a bigger charger it will be harder to spool it and when it does; there won't be much control in your launch.
A looser converter will multiply a lot of tq off the line and give you more control in how you launch it. It will make it easier to spool a bigger charger. You want to make sure that if you choose a loose converter that it couples well.

Mike it was a pleasure to talk to you the other day on the phone. I really appreciate you taking the time out of your day to discuss different TC's for my future set up. I placed my order with DHD today and ended up going with the ML-G converter. I can't wait to see how my truck will perform with a built trans and new converter.

Once again thanks for you time.:thumb:
