In HP Tuners there is a spot to disable the trans adapt... has anyone everdisabled it? Will it hurt my trans?
I have also heard that when ever you write to the TCM that it resets the trans adapt?

It's not reccomended to disable the trans adapts even though you can. I'm not sure with HPTUNERS, but I know with EFILIVE I have done a few flashes and the adapts have gone completely haywire afterwards and I had to go in and reset them to fast before it would straighten itself out.

I agree, the adaptive pressures are there for a reason...due to the fact that the trans shifts clutch to clutch without unlocking the torque converter in some cases there needs to be that ability for the TCM to trim the pressures to achieve the proper shift timing. Just my .02 worth though. I am also one of those that doesn't believe in disabling de-fuel either...call me conservative if you like.
