Hey everyone! I hope the holiday was good to everybody! I a 06 RC/LB LBZ Allison 3.73 totally stock. I will use the truck to make my living hauling boats, cars, etc. First, My truck came without a manual so I was told by a friend to just hit tow/haul and the truck will do the rest. Is that most or less true? Second, I believe the truck is rated to tow 15,200#s and with me will be towing around 10-11500#s or less most of the time. Should the truck have any extra coolers added? I have smoked almost every GM auto I have ever owned. This truck replaces a 1500 4.8 with a 5 speed that I never had a motor/tranny problems towing 8000#s cross country for over 210,000 miles and I still have it. Any info to make this truck last I am thankful for!

With stock power, just hit tow/haul and go. The transmission will hold out for a long time towing heavy. Perhaps lotsofmiles will jump in here, he hauls for a living with his Duramax. I have 275,000+ miles on my transmission and it still holds stock power just fine. I don't tow all that much, but I normally have the power cranked up a ways.

Towing only 11k lbs you probably won't need any extra coolers unless you are in stop and go traffic, or on some crazy hills. Try it for a while and see. If it is overheating or hotter than you want, then you can look into extra coolers. But you probably won't need them.
