I bought a 2007 cclb "classic" truck a few months ago, it came loaded, 6" lift, 35's banks six gun (speedloader) with PDA, exhaust/intake blah blah blah, has 84000 on it, from the beginning if I ever railed hard on it (in the speed loader setting) it felt as if the tranny SLAMS out of gear roughly 5 seconds after WOT, so today I made a pass around a car on the 4th setting (which is where it is normally) it did the same thing, "i floored it, and about 5 seconds later, the tranny felt as if it broke in half.... so immediately i let off the throttle and eased back into it and it was fine...no codes nothing out of the ordinary, it remains in normal operating condition. Anyone have any ideas what could cause something like this?

Does this onl happen in 6th gear shifting down? Mine always pauses makes the double downshift-clunk than goes. That is normal. If that is all it is, before you flor it either go to 5th M so it only downshifts once, or go to 4 M directly

That's a good question Im not even sure what gear its happening in, it seems like im running about 50mph and stomping the pedal and it happens around 65 at WOT, I'm guessing 4th maybe 5th

Ya ill have to keep playing with it, maybe a tranny flush with some new fluids... I haven't done any maintenance on it yet since I just bought it, but I have a feeling the original owner drove it hard, He said he towed a 30' boat with it from time to time...

Is this a 4X4? If so it could be the high low range range popping to neutral under load due to worn nylon pads on the slider. This is a fairly common problem if the transfer case gets low on fluid most commonly from pump rub.

I'm going to look a little farther into that... That seems like a very possible symton to what I'm experiencing... Thanks for the idea!
