I have a 14k tandem axle deck over trailer and the last time i had a tire blow out i had a hard time finding a 235/80/r16 load range F tire for it. I have seen alot of guys running LT tires on trailers just wondering if i should change over from trailer tires to LT tires due to $ and easier finding them.

If you can run a 7.50 tire that's what I'd run. Hankook makes a damn good one that is 14 ply tire. We are going on 4 years on a set on our cattle trailer. We had a set of hankooks in the same tire on our tandem dual flatbed that were only 10ply. One finally gave out and like you said hard to find a whole set so I put 4 LT tire on the front duals and 4 new hankooks on the rear. I absolutely hate the LT tire. They act like they are low on air all the time and give a rougher ride.

there is a G rated 235/85-16 out there its called a sailun. works ok but if you can get a 14 ply in a 235/80 16 i would stick with that. 750-16 is the same height as a 235 80-85 just not sure if you can get them in the heavier plys. the 12 or 14 plys should be more than enough for that trailor the 10 ply LT's may not be if your maxing it out.

These trailer tires are breaking me down. Buddy of mine borrowed my trailer and had three of the four tires blow out. I think I'm gonna look into the bfg commerical ta tire. Anyone have good luck with them?
