I would like to put a stack up through the toolbox on my drw, but im worried about sooting up the pulling truck behind. Only thing i used dually for is towing our 2.6 truck, does anyone have any experience with this? Will soot the thing all up in just a couple hours worth of driving?

I have just a revised stock tune in drw right now with plans to stay that way. Stock fuel tables, just improved timing and torque tables. It will also have a muffer(or two) on it.

No matter what tune I am on with having a straight exhaust and stack and whether 30 min drive or 2 hour drive I always find some kinda soot particles in my bed or on my bed sides... Nothing major that can't be wiped away tho!

Just didnt want to have a black windshield every time we arrive at a pull. Was hoping someone had some experience with a stockish-tune LBZ(with deletes) towing with a stack

Only problem I had was when it rained or when it was damp out. It would get little black speckles on the puller. Unless the tune is really dirty you should have zero problem(except a headache when you get home after being at the pulls all day/night ;))

Put a single "donkey ear" (bull stack) on it and point it to the side. :roflmao: That will blow the soot to the side rather than straight back. On my stack put a 18" resonator underneath. That helped a lot but still drones pretty good around 75+ mph, although I never pulled with it either. I was also thinking about just putting a 5" resonator from a semi in the bed right below the stack. The semi resonators will quiet just about anything. It quieted the hell out of my 60 series Detroit, but I didn't like the fact of having a big ugly ass muffler where you could see it in the bed.

I pull a white box trailer with mine and don't have any problems. You will be fine as long as it doesn't rain in the stack.

Best thing to do is find a local upholstery shop and have a stack cover made like I did of heat resistent material and just put it on when you arrive to keep water out if it! The best tuning for soot free towing is IMHO guy tripps 75hp tow tune that I got back in 2007 when I bought EFI from him.

Can you not make a bed stack kinda like a hood stack where the 2 are not connected at the bottom so rain water will run out of it? So the stack is just a sleeve around the exhaust, but have the actual exhaust end 6" into the stack. So say you have 4" exhaust, get a 5" inlet stack and rigid mount the stack but let the exhaust ride inside of it freely.

Could be a good idea to try.....

I'm not sure what would benefit from doing this... Hood stacks are like that so you can pop open the hood, but the bed never moves :/

Flapper = :gay:

and yes but it would be less

I know flappers are gay lol. I was joking ;)

And one thing I notice, it doesn't matter how much water, it'll always leave spots. I don't notice it as much with a Berliner, but snow also is very terrible with a stack.

And it is tough to get a stack to be quiet while towing. My 7" is so loud I can barely hear myself think, but I like it :D but then once I put it back out the back for towing its quiet.

That's the biggest reason I haven't put my stack in the nosie I got a new muffler to go on at the same time but I dunno I may try it before winter with twins I know it wont be bad

With a single, it's loud, but I ride in my friends with twins and it's a night and day difference with how bad it drones. I'm taking my stack out in the winter, if you think rain is bad with a stack, snow is 10x worse because it sticks to your bed.
