So I love it but whats everyone doing when the jerk in front of you keeps hitting the brakes and now I'm at 4000+ rpms

Nah, engine braking won't hurt anything. Its designed for it. Heck, I run that high under power, and many here do lots more.

Owners manual states you can run it up to 4800rpm while engine braking without damage.

Don't think I would ever let it go that high tho.

Mines been up to almost 5000 during grade braking(ALOT of weight pushing me down a STEEP grade, couldn't upshift quick enough), and it's still going fine. The PPE level 6 I ran for awhile would hit 5000 under power, so at no load it aint gonna hurt a thing.
