I'm not quite sure which section to put this question in, but I figure I'll try here first. Here's my dilemna, I'm transplanting an 01 DMAX/ALLISON into my 95 SUBURBAN. I just recently got a subscription to ALLDATA and I see that TOW/HAUL mode works through the BCM. Is this correct? If it is, then is there any way to engage TOW/HAUL mode without the BCM? I see that the DESTROKED kit has a TOW/HAUL function in there ALLISON controller, how is this added in? I will be buying EFILIVE here soon so I can eliminate the VATS system, and was hoping I could program the TCM to accept a different input to enable the tow/haul function similiar to that of the overdrive lockout feature added to the 01-02's. Unfortunately there isn't alot of info out there reagrding swapping a DMAX/ALLY in without swapping in the entire dash. I'm trying to swap over as little as possible from the 01 to my 95 and make this work.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I think only the 2003+ trucks run tow/haul through the databus and BCM.

Im almost positive 2001-2002 trucks are "hardwired" directly to the TCM. I have seen Alldata mix up things like this before...Ill have to check the actual factory service manual to be sure.

That's the OD L/O. T/H is still through the BCM for all. Remember, when you run an 01 OS in your TCM, T/H still works normally. ;)

DUH!! I completely forgot about that, my bad!:

Dave isnt there a general purpose input on the TCM that also can activate tow/haul?

J1 which is gray connector on TCM. Use pins 10 and 28.

:hail::hail:I knew there was a reason I posted this here. So it's it's 12 and 28 for the OD/LO and use 28 but with 10 for tow/haul mode? The directions I found say to use 20 for the indicator for OD/LO, is this correct? And if you knew which one for the tow/haul would be AWESOME. This was one of my hurdles to overcome to eliminate the BCM from my conversion.

Well I called up MIKE L and talked to him about this today. Armed with the info he gave me I called DESTROKED as well as PPE and they both told me that there is no way to make the TOW/HAUL feature work in the GM ALLISON programming without an ECM and BCM. DESTROKED is using an emulator that sends out the same signals that the ECM and BCM does to make his work, and PPE said there is no programming provisions that they have found to add this in.

So my next idea I guess is to transfer the BCM and guage cluster over to the 95. Does anybody here no what would happen if I only hook up limited inputs to the BCM? Would it turn on any warning indicators? Could these be programmed out by EFILIVE?

Found somebody who can do it. Brayden at FLEECE said he could write me a custom operating system similiar to what he does for the DODGE conversion and make it do all the things I want it to.
