So starting last week the truck started feel like it was lugging a little bit and the trans I thought was acting funny. So I changed the spin on filter hoping that would fix it. Tonight at the track I did 2 passes launching at about 10psi. the trans started making a weird noise. If I put the truck in drive it feels like the convertor is locked up. the truck will drive and shift normal just feel like the convertor is stuck or something. It is the PPE stage 5. the convertor is what ever comes with the kit. oh and it is not even a year old. any thoughts?

A local shop. I went out this morning and started the truck drove it around and it was fine. So i decided to flush it. filters looked normal no crazy clutch material. went around the block came to a stop and the truck felt like it still wanted to go. WTF.

Yes it is trying to push through the brakes when stopped. I was only trying to hold about 9-10psi at the line maybe a sec or 2. not long at all. rpm was 1900 to 2000. dan if you can give me a call. thanks. 845-313-5851

Don't waste your time flushing it. Sounds like converter is trashed. Could also be a sticky valve, but either way a tear down is required to find and repair the problems correctly.

Not everyone is qualified to build Allisons, even if they have a kit in front of them. Its just so much money out-of-pocket if something is done wrong. Thats why we always refer guys to the same shops time and again.

Hopefully its something simple, like debris in the valve body or solenoid. Might want to ask Mike what he'd charge you to check things out.

If it was a stuck valve would it still drive fine. And not throw a code? The shop I went to was recommended as a good Allison builder. They said they built them all the time.

I could drive it but it wanted to push through the brakes when I stopped and it shifted a little weird and the trans got warm . The guy at PPE tried to tell me it was from swollen o-rings in the VB because I cleaned it with brak-kleen. Lmao!
