What's up guys, I'm looking for some more info and possibly pictures of a cylinder head that's been "torched" from lifting an injector. Overall I'm just curious of the process of how this happens. To my understanding if you lift an injector to the point where there is no ignition in that cylinder, just straight fuel spraying out of the bore the chances of fire damaging the head is not likely. So in the event there is either soot build up or you can hear it chugging, the bore for the injector could be damaged by the concentration of heat in that area? And if so isn't the area around the valve experiencing the same heat and pressure constantly? I would just like to become more familiar with the process, and if there are any remedies to this happening without pulling or changing the head.

I've attached a picture of a head with an injector in it, the yellow arrow is pointing at the glow plug but you can see the injector tip pretty well.

Thanks for any info.
