Today's second question, Auto Dimming Mirror

Is there a test to see if my stock auto dimming mirror is actually working? At night I can't tell if it is dimming at all. The compass and Temp. read out work as well as the power and on-star buttons.

Turn lights on, block light sensors on mirror, and I can’t remember if dash sensor has to be blocked, then shine light on sensor on the mirror side of the mirror.

I think the dusk dawn sensor needs to see dark / auto headlights on. Shine a light on the mirror sensor and see if the mirror darkens. Remove light and mirror should lighten

Hmmmmmmm.....This is the little dome thing at the very front of the dash, near the window.....right under the dash cover.
DOH!!!!!!!!
I'll have to test this with it uncovered.

You’ll have to have the dome covered, not uncovered, and there is a sensor on the backside of the mirror.
