About to order my Airdog 165 and am up in the air on whether I need to order the sump for it as well or not? I have heard with the way our Duramaxs and are fuel systems are setup it is not needed but would it be smart to go ahead and do the sump or is it just entirely not needed? How are all of y'all's systems setup? Thank you kindly!

They are not "needed" on a duramax, but it doesn't hurt. I have one with my fass 150 and did not see much difference.

Definitely makes life easy if you ever have to pull the tank again for any reason. Its like pulling the drain on a 26 (or 34) gallon bath tub :D

it hurts in the really cold-it is the low point and will gather water and freeze up. But unless you live in an awful place like me it won't be a factor

I did the 1/2 inch draw straw and on the ppe hot plus 2 on setting 10,my cp3 pulled thru my lift pump and 3 filters (the lift pump was shut off for tuning so it wouldnt keep running and we forgot about it) and never limped.I have no low fuel issues either i fill up 1/4 to 1/8 of a tank and never sucked air that i know of.

So sounds like it is really not needed and of coarse wouldn't hurt but for the extra money as well as pain in draining your tank to install it and what not wouldn't be worth it.
