Tire upsize on dually solution?

I've gone to 235/85/16 winter tires on stock rims with 1/4" spacers. They just touch with 2 sleds on the back but I've gone with it.

I want to go with the same size for summer but with the camper on I know I'm not going to get away with it. There are no spacer options between 1/4" and 1 1/2". I don't want to go 1 1/2" or 2" because gravel roads will chip the paint. 2 x 1/4" is not advised as they tend to break and I'd need to change studs and it may not be enough.

I can't find steel rims with a bigger (negative) offset and I'd rather not have expensive wheels because I park it in the bush for days.

Questions;

What is the stock rim specs for offset and backspace?

Does anyone know of a supplier for steel rims that would work?

Should I offset the inside or outside?

Any recommendations for aftermarket rims?

I thought I'd have no problem but the only option is maybe getting the offset changed @ $600.

I would say these guys. The gentleman who owns it is named fred and he is really easy and nice to work with. Everytime i call him he shoots all the number to me right off the top of his head and then reminds me that he is 70 some years old and still has it haha. But either way talk to him and see what he tells you. Hope this helps. :thumb:

I don't want that much space, new tires are hard enough on the paint job with all the gravel roads I travel on. 1/2" to 3/4" is what I'm looking to achieve.

Some after market wheels must be available to achieve that

What's the stock rim specs for the DRW rim?

I think my solution will be with a bigger offset (negative offset) steel rim or aluminium wheel.

Somebody must have sourced this already  Canadian selection sucks up here.

I'm looking into doing this. I'm going to try it with 17" wheels off of a 2010 Ram dually (my neighbor's). Currently he has 235's on it and there is more room between his duals then mine (I have the 215's).

You need 16" dually wheels from a dodge. I run a 235 on my 02 ram 3500 service truck and there is plenty of room. I bet I could run a 265/75/16 without touching, maybe even a 285.

i run 265's on my Alcoa 16" wheels, Tech buddy said they looked like stock spacers to him. i'd like to ditch them to run 20" AE wheels, if budget allows.

I finally got around to trying the wheels off the Ram. They fit but had a bad wobble. The hub is a few mm bigger on the Ram so the wheels have a slightly larger hole to accommodate this. This throws the hub centric fitment out the window.

They did look awesome on the Dmax!
