What are you guys running for tires? I went to 2 different tire places today and they are both saying I HAVE to have 10 ply and are over 300$ a piece. I found Toyo proxes size 305/50/20 for 158$ a piece, says the load rating is 3,086 I would think this would be more then enough. But then again im no tire expert....

Most E rated are around 3100-3200 per tire. I have 285/50/20 proxes that are rated less then the 305/50/20 and haven't had a problem with them.

I wish there was a 285 that was a 55 or 60 in a 20. I like the width but wish they were a little taller. The 305 is just too wide for my likings

I've had some tire stores refuse to put on certain tires, which is odd. Probably some liability thing, no matter how stupid.

Last time, I just wanted to get my tires rotated and balanced, and the same place that installed them said I couldn't possibly have tires as big as I do on the truck, they won't fit. :roflmao:

Then, after I convinced them that I did in fact drive in, not magically teleport, they balanced them and tried to air them to the door sticker (80 PSI) when the tires are only rated for 50 PSI. I tried arguing, but they claimed the door sticker is right no matter what (WTF!?!) and that it wouldn't hurt the tires.

Now that is BS, as I've had 3 tires blow up from being only 10 PSI over pressure (turns out we had a bad tire gauge). So don't let them tell you that overpressure won't hurt them.

The moral of the story is: Stupid tire stores...
