Tips on cutting down 4wd 60' times

I'd like to see what some of you guys do to drop your 60' times on your 4wds. I have the front end decranked far enough that my CV and tie rod angles are negative. I'm running CalTracs out back because I removed the overload spring. I tried dropping the air pressure in the tires some and that helped a little bit, but I still get lots of front end hop off the line and was only able to cut a 1.807.

Any tips? I've thought about cranking up the preload on the CalTracs, but I'm not sure if that would help or hurt. I can see it raising the back end up some which would transfer more weight to the front, but the way they are designed it seems like they would want to actually transfer weight off the front onto the rear. I've also though about strapping the front suspension, but I'm not sure how much that would help.

What kind of tires and air pressure are you running in your tires?

Also do you have anything besides tie rod sleeves up front? Such as an All Season brace or Cognitio/PPE pitman and idler arm braces??

I think I was running about 25 psi. They are Toyo Proxes, 275/55R20, and whatever load range comes on a half ton...C?

All I have up front is tie rod sleeves. The rest of the steering setup is all stock.

I'd get that front end braced up more before trying anything else. How hard are u launching ?

What boost were you leaving at? You may get more lift up front with the short wheelbase

Looks like I launched at about 20psi...that's all my brakes would hold, truck was starting to creep forward. I have bigger brakes planned for next season, so hopefully that will increase some.

I'd get that front end braced up more before trying anything else. How hard are u launching ?

Looks like you may have a little toe in.. Hard to tell in the video. That spinning out of the hole is hurting you time though.

I know if I launch over 12psi I spin. It hooks good at about 10psi and I cut 1.78-179 60's(with 285/40-22's)... Time for some 16s and some good radials lol

Sounds about perfect as far as tire specs go... As Justin said tho I wouldnt suggest doing anything more untill you get some kind of more bracing up front... Also like he said that spinning off the line is hurting you!

I am not sure it helps on a 4x4 but on my 2wd giving my caltracs 2 turns of preload helped out like crazy. Went from a 1.84 to a 1.72. Tried more but times started going the other way. No preload was like having nothing on there. I am only running 2 leaf springs.

Guys, remember this is a 1500 rc/sb truck. Shock choice front and back is where I'd start.

Several of the guys over on performancetrucks.net have had great results by strapping the front end down as well. I think I'm going to see if I can come up with a limiting strap setup that replaces the front shock and ratchets down to keep the front end pretty much solid to see what that does. There's a guy over there who said he consistently cuts a 1.3-1.4 60' with a stiff front suspension (he converted to coilovers in front), cranking the crap out of his traction bars, and using stiff shocks out back.
