Timed ( Toothed Belts) CP3 Pumps and the reasoning behind this

I have decided to give more information on some of the projects I am doing that might give a little info back

I have been working with Gates on the GT3 and PolyChain belts to drive the CP3 Pumps. I underdrive my pumps because of the rpm range I run my motors.

The reason for the positive drive ( cogged belts ) is critical, and not apparent unless you data log at a much higher rate then EFI is capable of. EFI live log's at 100 samples per second I data log at 1000 and some time 2000 samples per second.

With ribbed style belts you have slip when you start leaning on the pump's. This small percent slip may not sound like a problem, but I believe it is a cause of rail bounce .
These pumps are variable positive sometimes displacement pumps and a small percentage of slip causes the pump to wig out slow down even a small amount, the fuel deliver changes. The FCA's will catch and causes a drop in fuel delivery, and the ECM starts to cycle to balance this. This is the cause I believe of rail bounce

At 1000samples per second you can see the action of the FCA's and VCV BS,and look at that in relationship to actually fuel pressure.

I drive my 2 Exergy 12mm stroker pumps off the cams at 67. % of normal CP3 speed.

here is some pictures of the parts I built .

I turn the wrenches on my car,

this is what happened when we went to 2500 bar on fuel pressure on the dyno. The belt was not as much the problem as the idler slipped . We now have a positive idler retainer. With more belt wrap on the driven gear , this will go away

Check out the HSP covers kitty cat. Gears don't throw belts. Less spinning mass.

that is great if you not running a dual fueler like most are on here , or wanting to change the ratio of the pump drive.

I stall the convertor at 4700 to 5000 rpm and shift at 6200. CP3 pumps may turn that hard , but they do not like it and are not as efficient

Who gives a shit

At least this post seems like he is trying to better the duramax racing scene, and not just give himself a pat on the back.

Without people trying things such as this the duramax engine won't advance as much as it could otherwise.

I could see how the slippage of a belt on the cp3 could cause issues.

I will be starting more of these threads , next is on dry sump system on the Dmax . Then Jesel lifter option and oiling the lifters . Internal balancing . Piston design , and availability of some neat parts

Learned how to put people on the ignore list

You can run 3 cp3s with it. Many guys are spinning more rpms and horsepower then you are with less failures.

Not sure if plenty are turning a true 6200. I have turned at high at 7100 on a pull .

In any case CP3 do not like it up, there their most efficent range is 3000 to 3750. Yes thy will turn higher , but not make as much fuel
The other part of this is to keep the pumps always turning the same speed in relation to engine speed .

Cp3s are only tested and calibrated to 4500 rpms anyways. Under driving them for the rpms he is running is a huge benefit.

You should remove the cp3's and go with a dual HPUIS (high pressure unicorn injection system). You just need a back fire arrestor to block the dicks that fly out the exhaust pipe. Instead of smoke it blows rainbows so the tree huggers will flock to your car at the track. This will really compliment your rubberless tires (jack stands) that you're running. You should add this to your program.
