I've got the mods in my sig below. Now I'm eyeballing the diamond downpipe. My 486 hp/909 tq was before any mods using the McRat 500 hp tune. Now I have other stuff. I use my truck for daily driving, and hauling my 5,000 truck camper and 5,000 boat often. I cannot afford to rebuild my engine or anything, buying new turbos, etc. I don't go to the track for 1/4 mile or pull. I do ricky race a lot though with 4x4 launches. Am I at the point of too much HP for a stock truck? I need 300,000 miles out of this. Should I back down? Boost is running at 34-36 psi and gets NEVER exceeded 1300, but do need more back tires. Honest answers guy/gals, I really cannot afford a $2,000+ repair bill any time soon. I'm only a one income guy with meager military pay and a couple kids to boot.

the way i see it is the Downpipe is good for reducing EGTS
and to me everything that reduces EGTS is a good thing.

Lower EGTs = good idea

My daily driver tune is a mildly de-tuned version of the LBZ race tune...Will the slightly lower HP help engine longevity???...Not sure...If I go the the track, I put the big one in, then change it after...

If this helps... I drove my BANKS stuff on the highest level for almost 30k miles, then switched to EFI and ran a 500 tune for about 6-8k miles. I farted with EFI and BANKS for a few weeks.

At these levels i feel the DMAX is good for atleast 100-125k before you need major stuff, like a re build. I didn't get there but hey...almost 40k SoCal miles are pretty tough, 18 year old drove it, towed trailers, brother "the lead foot" drove it, made long trips no issues, NOTHING.

I try and think of my trucks as old ladies and rag on them no more than i have to. ASk Kat about her blue truck, it's been a test mule for years and the grocery getter!:)

Is it simple to pull boost or do I have to know about vane positions, fuel maps, timing, etc? I haven't made a single tune, just livin off the hard work of others.

I've tried one of Dynarex's tunes that made 32-33, probably more proof that our engines are all a little different...He's good at this, just have him drop it down a few psi...

Kurt  dont make me start pulling your old threads

i was thinking that also:D

Its true, i have traded tunes with quite a few people and all came back with different boost results,Baro seems to be the big player if all other mapping is done the same.
