(Feel free to move this if needed)
Alrighty (sorry lengthy), I try not to daily my truck but occasionally it ends up that way due to having to pick up the kids when the wife works too. So I have a 2015.5 GMC 2500 LML unmodded. I had been dailying it for about 4 or 5 days and it had been regenning for about the last 3 days. I only drive about 20 minutes to work and don't go over 40. Well, one morning I was going down some back roads and went through an 'S' intersection (90* left with and immediate 90* right). As soon as I straightened out and got up to speed the exhaust fluid light and the check engine light came on with the service exhaust fluid system soon message and 99 miles till 65 mph restriction. I left it at my buddy's house and took his truck to accomplish our tasking for that day. When we came back I got in and started it up, all the same stuff. Drove home and dropped a few things off then went to go pick up the kids. In the process of picking them up I took a detour to get on a HWY and brought the truck up to 60 mph for about 15 minutes so it would finally finish regenning. With the regen finished I got the kids, had to turn the truck off when going in to get them. Started the truck back up, message was gone and so was the exhaust fluid light. Check engine light was still on though. The next day, the check engine light was out. Sweet I fixed it!? A few days later finally got a buddy with a code reader and read P2020 OBD-II Trouble Code: Intake Manifold Runner Pos Sensor/Switch Circuit Range/Performance Bank 2. Googled that, tells me to bring it in for inspection/service. I haven't yet and really don't plan to. Everything cleared out once I finished the regen and I feel it was all due to the prolonged regen and constantly driving in traffic and maybe that 'S' turn if it really has to due with air and fuel stuff. If you took the time to read this, thank you....now comes the question; Do you guys think I am safe and my thoughts are correct? Should I bring the truck to the dealership anyways? Keep in mind the code is cleared now after the reading...but if the light comes back on, then I will 100% take it into the dealership. Should I worry? Usually the truck tows on average every other week to monthly in the summer with the occasional daily of 3-4 days a week. Now I am not towing since camping season is pretty much over, so HWY/Interstate time is low. After this incident I plan on once I notice a regen to get on the interstate until the regen completes so I don't have this happen again. Do you guys feel this will alleviate my problem coming back?
