Threaded Frost plugs

Whats the advantage of these??

Dont know a lot about them, just saw a built motor that had them.

i only ever hear cummins guys talk about their frost plugs.

Not in the coolant galleries but I have seen it done to the ones in the back of the block for the oil galleries. A few people have had these fail and leak and I've seen it personally so I will be doing this to mine when before I finish building it.

I haven't heard of any failing in the coolant galleries on stock blocks that were installed by GM but I have heard of ones installed by engine builders that have failed. I personally wouldn't touch them if they weren't leaking.
