We should have mods that filter through and remove unrelated posts from threads. I have witnessed a increasing number of posts in threads that have nothing related to the original post. I am sure it is quite frustrating for the OP/others to sift through so many unnecessary replies.

Once in awhile I see things go rogue = way off track. But for the most part it doesn't seam bad to me.Things aren't run like a concentration camp here like on some other sights and most are respectable to others unless they for some reason they deserved it.

Agreed its not that bad of a problem IMO. We take members getting ripped off here extremely serious however. When individuals pop up in conversation who are known for said offenses we admittedly get a little carried away but that's the only instance that comes to mind where we get off course. And FWIW, last week the mods cleaned that thread up pretty quick and even shut down the thread hosting the continued bashing of said individual.

And there is no Torrance for people that come on here and spout untruths or just plane don't know what they are taking about leading people down the wrong path with bad info.

If the person who started the thread has a problem with the direction his thread is going, he can always use the report post function of the site, and the mods will clean up the thread and make sure it gets back on track. Otherwise, we don't interfere in a thread unless it gets way out of hand with fighting and insluts.

I find it quite entertaining and its the reason why most of us like this place. Yeah, the tech info is fantastic...but there's little Moderator intervening when stuff gets good. It's a tight knit community and most of us know each other personally, so off topic posts and ball busting happens often.

Thread filtering is when you pour your used oil through cotton gauze?

In any case, off-topic threads often get polluted with tech data, and tech threads get polluted with off-topic data.

There isn't a lot that can be done about, and after you're around a long time, it actually starts to make sense. Or nonsense. Something like that.
