I have an 02 LB7. I bought the truck used about 2 years ago and bought an aftermarket warranty from Fidelity. About 8 months ago my truck started smoking, got sluggish, etc. I took it to the dealer assuming injectors were gone. Twice. Both times they said I was within spec. But about a week ago, it got so bad I was having a hard time getting the truck past 50 mph.

So... I took it back in. Since I didn't suggest to the tech what I thought it was, he checked and sure as I thought, injectors were bad. 6 out of 8! They replaced all of them.

I picked up the truck today, warmed her up and headed for home. Problems weren't fixed. Took it back to the dealer and they checked rail pressure. Fuel Filter. I hadn't changed it in about 10k and it was plugged. But as soon as I swapped it, ran like a champ.

So all in all, my clogged fuel filter led to me getting my injectors changed out! I'm awfully happy just thought I would share with the rest of the world! $4000+ worth of work for only $106 out of my pocket! :D

Aren't they supposed to install a new filter when they put injectors in under the special policy, they did on mine but i had to pay for it but that was all i paid for. Service writer said they are required to install per injector tsb.
