This is from my dad's truck (240k mile LMM). He's been running 500+ HP for the past 2.5 years. It's been tuned since about 50k miles. His truck is a crew cab dually and runs low 13s at nearly 8000 lbs. He was towing a load of pallets when it happened. We got a set of pistons from Fingers to go in it. Other than that and head studs, it's pretty much a stock rebuild.

Your dad is helll on wheels!! 240k of what he can dish out is truly a testament to the ability of a duramax.

You should post up a pic of him in the spare truck hauling square bales! :D

Interesting that the crack and hole is along the same plane as the wrist pin, but not directly above it (ie. 50/50 on the piston). Both edges of the crack and the hole are where the star pattern meets the lip of the bowl.......

Hey Josh, how far down is that crack? When I pulled mine, it had almost cracked completely in half. I just a to cut the bottom of one of the wrist pin holders and it came it was in two pieces.

As you can see in the picture, the crack doesn't go all the way across, but the crack goes down just below the top ring land on the side that is cracked. There is also a hole that comes out just below the oil ring.
